Hi — I'm Joseph Watson.

I'm a licensed home inspector holding state licenses in both New York and Connecticut, and an InterNACHI® Certified Professional Inspector. My job is simple: walk every inch of the property, tell you exactly what I find in plain English, and get you a clear, photo-documented report — usually the same evening — so you can decide with confidence.

When I'm not on a roof or in a crawlspace, I run J. Watson Studios Inc., a successful production company where I'm known as the "sound guy for the stars," and I volunteer as a firefighter with the Union Vale Fire District. The same trained ear and eye for detail — and the same commitment to showing up for my community — go into every inspection I do.

What areas do you serve?+

All of New York and Connecticut — anywhere my New York home inspector's license gives me the authority to work. If your property is in New York, I can inspect it.

How long does an inspection take?+

Most general home inspections take 2–3 hours depending on the size and age of the home. Add-on testing like radon, sewer scope, or a drone roof flight is performed during the same visit.

When will I get my report?+

You'll receive a full, photo-documented report within 24 hours — usually the same evening. Reports are delivered through Spectora as a modern, interactive web report you can open on your phone or computer, complete with a clear summary and a request list you can share with your agent.

Should I be there?+

You're encouraged to attend. Walking through together is the best way to understand the home and ask questions in real time.

What does InterNACHI® certified mean?+

InterNACHI® is the International Association of Certified Home Inspectors. As a Certified Professional Inspector, J. Watson has met training, exam, and continuing-education standards and follows the InterNACHI® Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics.

Do I really need radon and water testing?+

Radon is common across New York and is the leading cause of lung cancer in non-smokers, so testing is strongly recommended. Water testing is essential for any home on well water and a smart check on municipal supplies too.
